Accessibility
Bublio is built to be used by every teacher in a school, including those who work with a keyboard, a screen reader, or a magnified screen. This page says what is covered today and what is not — the second list is the useful one.
Measured against WCAG 2.2 level AA
What Bublio covers today
- Every control can be reached with the keyboard, in the order it appears on the page. Nothing jumps ahead, and nothing is reachable only with a mouse.
- Keyboard focus is always visible, as a clear outline, on every control.
- Forms are ordinary forms: a real submit button, activated by Enter, with the labels a browser and a password manager both understand.
- Text and controls meet the contrast the standard asks for, checked automatically on every build, in both English and Arabic.
- Screens are laid out in relative units and reflow to 200% zoom without losing anything.
- Scanning progress is announced as a sentence, so it can be followed without watching the screen.
- Every image that carries meaning has a text alternative, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers rather than described.
What it does not cover yet
- Bublio has not yet been driven end to end by a person using a keyboard alone, or by a person using a screen reader. The parts a machine can check are checked; that walk is not the same thing, and until somebody does it this page does not claim it.
- The Arabic interface is still being translated by a teacher, so parts of the product read in English on an Arabic screen.
- Scanning needs a camera and a steady hand on the paper. Bublio grades photographs a colleague takes just as readily, and a scanned PDF works the same way.
Contrast, keyboard order and labelling are checked automatically on every release, and that catches the mistakes that come back most often. It is not the same as somebody working through the product with a keyboard and a screen reader, so this page does not say that has happened until it has.
The walk that settles it
The core loop, start to finish, with the keyboard alone. Every control along it is reachable and has a visible focus ring — that much is checked on every release. Somebody working the whole way through is what turns that into a promise, and it is the walk we are booking. If any step of it cannot be completed without a mouse, that is a bug and we want to hear about it.
- 1Sign in with the keyboard alone.
- 2Build an exam and print it.
- 3Scan a stack, with the progress read aloud.
- 4Clear everything that needs you.
- 5Release results and open a slip.
Tell us what is hard to use
If something on Bublio is hard to use, tell us and we will fix it. Say which screen and what happened; you do not need to know the standard.
